Over three lion's feet, a shell-shaped body made of fine bands in relief, decorated with leaf and flower tendrils over a linear ground. The hinged lid consisting of an embedded shell. Decorated with gordons at the base, framed by engraved vines. Central depiction of a lyre framed by leaves and volutes on a base. Lined inside with beige silk fabric. The hinged lid with an inset depiction of the Crystal Palace, built in 1851 for the first Great Exhibition in London, with figural staffage in so-called églomisé technique. Music box with extremely fine Viennese enamel painting in bronze, gilt and partly enameled. Fully sculpted music box in the shape of a concert grand piano on three conical legs with a small, round stool. Hinged piano and keyboard lid. Inside a small compartment lined with red velvet. The walls surrounded by stylized columns in relief alternating with oval medallions and calyx decoration. The lid, the keyboard and the stool decorated with fine polychrome enamel painting, in part with scenic depictions of a pair of shepherds, musicians and two putti. Signed "G (?) B." Elevator on the underside of the base. H. 7.3 cm. 10 cm x 13 cm. Stool h. 3.2 cm.

The wall surrounded by delicate polychrome scattered flowers over a translucent, ice-grey enameled and wavy engine-turned ground. The openwork monogram "FJ" under the archducal crown of Franz Joseph of Austria-Tuscany and Archduke of Austria (1905 - 1975) applied to the lid. Marked by the mark of the master Johann Souval (active ca. 1915). Gilt interior. Weight approx. 25 g. H. 3,4 cm. D. 2.6 cm.
