Large lacquer box, papier-mâché, lacquered black. Rectangular body. The hinged lid depicts a submerged dungeon room with the imprisoned impostor Yelisaveta Alexeyevna Tarakanova, better known as Princess Tarakonova (1750-1775). After a painting by Konstantin Flawizki (1830-1866) from 1864. Painted red inside. Indistinctly inscribed and signed in Cyrillic; dat. 1968; h. 4.8 cm. 15 cm x 10.7 cm.
