A good signed and inscribed comic book, a hardcover copy of `Un Opera de Papier - Les Mémoires de Blake et Mortimer´ by Jacobs, 9 x 10.5, 190 pages, edited by Gallimard, 1981. Signed and inscribed to the inside page alongside the title page, beneath his printed inscription `Aux miens" ("To my people"). Jeronaton/Original drawing illustrating medieval craftsmen. Superb illustration done entirely in gouache. Signed. TBE+. 19 X 24 cm Jean Torton alias Jeronaton is a Belgian comic book artist born in Ghlin in 1942. He began his career with Hergé at the Studios, where he worked with Jacques Martin, Bob de Moor, Edgar P. Jacobs and Roger Leloup. He then went on to work for Tintin magazine and Belvision's animated features. He also worked as colorist for FL Funcken and Paul Cuvelier. Although Jeronaton's work does not feature any recurring heroes, certain themes are frequently evoked: the primeval forests of South America, pre-Columbian civilizations and Däniken or Charroux's theories on extraterrestrials. The author "seeks to share his questions and his wonder at the myths and mysteries of our planet's history".
