RARE CHANDELIER DIT DE SAMSON - in copper alloy depicting Samson astride the back of a lion that turns its head towards him, trying with both hands to keep its mouth open. The lion stands firmly on its four short legs. Its mane is spread in triangular, engraved locks. Samson's right leg is pointing towards the front of the animal, while his left is thrown sharply backwards. He is dressed in a flowing robe whose engraved folds follow the movement of his body. His emblematic long hair falls behind his back, from which emerges the hexagonal openwork binet. Probably Rheno-Mosan work from the late 12th or early 13th century. Height: 21.1 cm - Width: 18.5 cm Depth: 9 cm (Wear, small accidents) PROVENANCE - Victor Sanson Collection (1876 - 1948) - By descent to the present day. Our candlestick belongs to a series of very similar pieces made in the late 12th or early 13th century, probably in the copperware workshops that flourished in the region of Lower Saxony / Rhine-Meuse region. A very similar example is known from the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen [R.91.23], a similar one is in the Musée du Louvre [OA 6937] and another of the same subject is in the Walters Art Museum [54.78]. Walters Art Museum [54.784], the latter still bearing traces of a fine gilding, which we can assume was once also applied to our copy. Of the utmost rarity, it would appear that our candlestick is the only one known to be in private hands.

In 2021 he landed in the world of Non-Fungible Tokens thanks to a collaboration with the Ferruccio Lamborghini museum for which he portrayed its famous collectible Miuras. Artist: Paulo Renftle is an Italian photographer who collaborates with some of the most famous photo magazines in the world, capturing mainly female subjects, but also high-fashion products such as high-profile cars and luxury watches. SWAROVSKI, late 19th century. "Pair of birds". Faceted cut crystal. With Swarovski stamp on the side. Provenance: Private collection, Spain between 1970-1990. Measurements: 6 cm (height) x 9 cm (largest diameter). Pair of figures made in translucent, satin and faceted Swarovski crystal, representing two small birds drinking water from a bowl. The Austrian firm Swarovski is dedicated to the creation of products made of crystal, a wide range that includes sculptures, crystal miniatures for jewellery and haute couture, interior decoration, candlesticks and rhinestones for manufacturers and artists. The company was founded by Daniel Swarovski (1862-1956), who in 1892 invented a revolutionary machine that allowed crystal to be cut with greater precision than that obtained by hand-cutting. Three years later he set up his own factory in Wattens (Tyrol), and in 1931 he launched the first line of bows with small cut crystals sewn into them, thus entering the fashion accessories market. In 1956, shortly before his death, Swarovski, together with Christian Dior, developed the "Aurora Borealis" effect, a shimmering finish that enhances the brilliance of the cut crystal.

After Dr Angones died in 1962 she eventually married Orator Frank Woodward III, an heir to the Jell-O fortune.
