A rare collection of miscellaneous works that a contemporary enthusiast had bound into a volume, and which he supplemented, in homage to the poet, with the following platelet: G. AUBERT DE POICTIERS. Élégie sur le Trespas de feu Joach. Du-Bellay. Paris, Federic Morel, 1561 (4 f.) / A4. The text of the Tumulus Henrici secundi is complete, but it should include 2 additional leaves, which are missing here. On the other hand, Tchemerzine lists 2 unnumbered leaves for the Monomachie, as in the previous edition, but Scheler indicates that the text is indeed complete with the Ode à Phoebus and that these two leaves are probably not part of the edition. Finally, according to Scheler, L'Olive and Divers jeux rustiques are not two separate editions, but a single one. Chipped calf with old restorations, partial discoloration and beginning of crack at one hinge.

Ibid, id.., 1557. - Le Bocage...]. 3 parts in one small volume in-8, red morocco, triple fillet, 5-nerved spine nicely decorated with small irons, interior roulette, gilt edges ( Koehler). Barbier, MBP, II-21 // Brunet, IV-1379 // Tchemerzine-Scheler, V-427 // USTC, 30271. I. (4 f.)-70f.-(2 f.) / *4, a-i8 // II. 80 f. / A-K8 // III. 108 f. / A-N8, O4 / 87 x 142 mm. Rare forgery given by Plantin in Antwerp. Christophe Plantin, originally from Touraine, established himself as a printer in Antwerp shortly before 1550. Divided into three parts with separate folios and signatures, this edition includes Les Amours (with title copied from the Paris edition of 1553), the Continuation des Amours (with title copied from the original 1555 edition) and the Bocage et Meslanges (untitled, copied from the original editions of 1554 and 1555). This edition is very rare. Tchemerzine lists four copies, including perhaps our own, to which Scheler adds two. The USTC lists four copies in institutions, of which only the one in Antwerp's Plantin-Moretus Museum appears to be complete in all three parts. A very fine copy, despite some light wetness in the margins of the first 3 sections. Provenance: possibly the El. Huillard (I, February 14-19, 1870, no. 406, in red morocco by Koehler, cited by Tchemerzine).
