A BRONZE FIGURE OF A TORTOISE, MING DYNASTY A BRONZE FIGURE OF A TORTOISE, MING DYNASTY China, 1368-1644. The tortoise standing on all four feet with its head and tail protruding from a domed carapace. The shell further cast with the elongated feet and sharp talons of a crane, with two circular perforations. The bronze with a naturally grown patina and malachite encrustations. Provenance: The Property of a Lady, purchased in Hong Kong throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Condition: Good condition with minor wear and casting irregularities. Obvious losses, encrustations, signs of weathering and erosion, some dents, and light nicks. The crane figure intended to be placed above is missing. Weight: 197.4 g Dimensions: Length 11.4 cm
