Early 20th century Japanese lacquered kashibako or sweetmeat box in the form of a hyotan or double gourd, possibly by Umezama Ryushin (1874-1955). With gilt leaves and vines along the upper right as well as the center left edge, and a red lacquered interior. With a wooden box. (Sweetmeat box) height: 4 1/2 in x width: 2 in x depth: 1 1/2 in. (Box) height: 2 in x width: 5 1/2 in x depth: 3 in.
