Table clock. France, Napoleon III, ca. 1860. In gilded and chiseled bronze. Dial in enameled porcelain. Signed "Dussault à Paris". With pendulum. It shows wear. Measurements: 37,5 x 59 x 14,5 cm. French table clock from the Napoleon II period. Made entirely in gilded bronze, except for the porcelain dial, it is of sculptural character and represents an allegory of spring. A female figure that could represent Demeter reclines leaning her elbow on the case of the clock. The sculpture, of Greco-Roman inspiration, carries bundles of wheat and a sickle. She is accompanied by farming implements. The numbering of the enameled dial is Roman and Arabic. The whole rests on an openwork base with borders and scrolls.
