Table clock. France, Napoleon III, ca. 1880. In bronze and Belgian marble plates. Porcelain enameled dial. Gilt wood pedestal with cloth mat. Music box inside. With pendulum. It shows wear and faults. Measurements: 48 x 26 x 12 cm (clock); 7,5 x 31 x 16 cm (stand). French table clock from the Napoleon III period. The case combines bega marble coating and foliated bronze moldings. A sculpture worked in bronze in round bulge crowns the clock. It represents a courtesan woman in finely brocaded Renaissance costume, reading a book on a lectern. The white enameled porcelain dial has Roman numerals and is decorated with a vegetable garland in gilded bronze. Valances and scrolls, cabochons and masks complete the decoration.
