MESSAGERIES MARITIMES 1931 - Large medal of the PAQUEBOT GEORGES PHILIPPAR () - bronze - 68 mm - Arthus Bertrand manufacture - 151 gr - high relief bust in profile to the left - reverse: ship at sea, port profile; date in exergue () - Ship: Georges PHILIPPAR - launched on November 6, 1930 at St Nazaire, assigned to passenger transport on the Far East line, she caught fire on the night of May 16 to 17, 1932, then sank off Aden on the return leg of her maiden voyage to Japan and China, taking 49 lives, including the journalist Albert Londres. - Man: Georges PHILIPPAR was the acting president of the Compagnie Maritime at the time of the ship's launch. In the merchant navy, it is customary to name a ship while the person is still alive, unlike in the French navy.

Table clock; France, Restoration period, c. 1815 and later. Chiseled bronze, gilded with mercury and patinated. Preserves pendulum. Presents loss of the crown and the original suspension of the machinery has been replaced. Measurements: 64 x 43 x 13,5 cm. Table clock with sculptural group based on the prolific model made by the sculptor Claude Michallon. It is a piece with a stepped base in whose upper part is the dial, with Roman numerals in black. As in Michallon's model, on the body of the clock rest the figures of Cupid and Psyche worked in patinated bronze: Psyche places a crown on Cupid, while he brings his hand to her cheek in a delicate gesture full of love and tenderness. Formally, the position of the bodies stands out, denoting Michallon's savoir faire, as well as the careful detail of the modeling in the anatomy and in the qualities. The attribution of the design to Michallon (d. 1799) derives from an 1816 invoice by Feuchère for Würzburg in which he mentions this "pendulum of Psyché couronnant l'amour groupe modelé par feu Michallon". It preserves the pendulum. It presents loss of the crown and the original suspension of the machinery has been replaced.
