Hans SILVESTER (born 1938) Bathing in the Camargue - 1959. Silver print, made by PICTO. 50x80 cm Hans Silvester's vocation began in childhood. Born in Germany in 1938, he worked in a photographer's studio from the age of 14, graduating 3 years later. He took to the road across Europe. In 1960, Camargue was published with a text by Jean Giono. Provence became his home port, where he settled in 1960. One trip followed another. He established himself as an ardent defender of ecology, Calavon "La rivière assassinée" , "La déforestation en Amazonie", 1985. Nature is his second nature. In love with the Earth, he is also in love with the beings that inhabit it, including animals. His work is a whole that tells us of the beauty of the world. His images, chosen from among thousands, sketch the adventure of a man of photographic creation. Joëlle Ody
