Date: 1799 Description: The precise etching shows the ruins of the ancient Aqua Marcia, visible in a pastoral scenario. Aqueduct elements and fragmented architecture are depicted in detail against a horizon under a cloudy sky. Ushebti overseer of the High Priest "Ramses Nocturnal". Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, dynasty XX, 1189-1077 BC. Earthenware. Good condition. With small hole on the reverse, surface rubbed in some parts. Provenance: Ex K.R. collection, Rhineland-Palatinate. In Germany since before 1992. Invoiced by Roswitha Eberwein, Göttingen, 1992; Auction, December 2022, Germany. Measurements: 12.8 cm. She wears a three-piece wig and kilt, arms crossed in front of the chest. The ushebti wears a "wesekh" necklace on the chest, the hoe and seed basket are missing. The vertical hieroglyphic inscription names the "Night of Ramses". Ramses Night was a former Egyptian high priest of Amun under Ramses IV to Ramses IX. He was the son of the chief administrator Meribastet I and successor of Usermaatrenacht, who may have been the brother of Ramesesnacht.

Fat Lady. Ancient China, Tang Dynasty 618-907 AD. Terracotta. Good condition. Provenance: Purchased at Galería F., Spain, Madrid, 2022; Thermoluminescence test (TL) attached. Measurements: 52 x 21 cm. Example of a Chinese terracotta figure from the Tang dynasty of a "Fat Lady", dressed in a long robe richly decorated that falls to her feet in heavy folds, enhancing her graceful figure. She wears her hands tucked into her sleeves and holds a dog. She has a highly detailed face, with ruby cheeks and hair pulled back in a pretty bun. The eyes are elongated, the pointed nose, dimpled chin and precisely carved red-painted mouth are distinctive features that mark the unique aesthetic taste of the Tang dynasty. The lady rests on a flat base with rounded edges.

Diogo Navarro nasceu em Moçambique e vive em Lisboa, Portugal. Estudou na Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, em Lisboa. É um artista multifacetado, que procura explorar as potencialidades pictóricas de vários materiais através da pintura. Trabalha a óleo, madeira e assemblages. Realizou inúmeras exposições individuais e coletivas, em Portugal e no estrangeiro, inspirando-se a sua obra nos cenários africanos e nas suas viagens que o moldaram durante a sua infância. Realiza colaborações e obras de beneficência, como no ano de 2022, onde produziu 200 serigrafias em que todo o lucro de vendas reverteu para a UNICEF e Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa. As suas obras estão patentes em várias coleções públicas e privadas, salientando-se a Embaixada do Vaticano, em Rosa; Embaixada de Portugal, em Kinshasa; Embaixada dos Estados Unidos, em Lisboa; Museu de História Natural e Ciência e Palácio Nacional da Ajuda, ambos em Lisboa. Em 2012 receveu o prémio "Imagem da Rússia", pela Academia Russa de Belas Artes de Moscovo.
