Knight's Cross of the Order of the Iron Crown in enameled silver, fluted ring, profile of the Emperor in gold with green enameled laurel wreath, bolted crown, motto in Italian; width 22.5 mm, height 35 mm, gross weight 15.3 g. (Minor damage to enamel; no ribbon). First Empire period. Good condition. Provenance: General Victor Joseph DELCAMBRE. Souvenirs of General Victor Joseph Delcambre (1770/1858): He began his military career in 1792, as a corporal then sergeant, sergeant-major in 1792, second lieutenant in 1793, assistant adjutant-general on December 25, 1793, lieutenant in 1796, captain in 1797, assistant to the general staff of the Mainz army on July 4, 1798, aide-de-camp to General Grenier in August 1978, battalion commander in 1799, adjutant-commandant on May 30, 1809, colonel of the 23rd léger in July 1809, Baron de Champvert on June 4, 1810, colonel-major of the 5th regiment of voltigeurs of the young guard on January 24, 1813, brigadier general on July 23, 1813. He took part in numerous battles, the main ones being: Fleurus, at the siege of Maastricht, Sulzbach, served in Italy, Genola, Hohenlinden, Wagram, Figuières, served in front of Hamburg at the battle of February 9, 1814, Waterloo on June 18, 1815...
