Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: The present work is a typical work by the animal and genre painter Ansdell, depicting two deer on a dramatic, mountainous landscape in a characteristic composition. A similar (larger) scene, again featuring red deer on a rocky outcrop, sold at Sotheby's, London, on 18 September 2019 (lot 66).
