JAMES MCCABE, LONDON. A GOOD LATE GEORGE III MAHOGANY THREE TRAIN LONGCASE CLOCK with a 12" painted dial having Roman numerals, seconds and date dial, fronting a substantial eight-day three train movement with anchor escapement, strike/silent and bell strike playing the quarters on eight bells. The arched top case with pagoda and brass fish scale frets, above a long trunk door with canted corners and panelled base. (230cm high without finial ) The case has a small piece of moulding missing from the trunk door and another piece to the bottom of the right canted corner, which also holds the brass strips in place; one of the brass strips is missing. A tiny piece of veneer is missing next to the trunk door lock. There is a split to the top right corner of the trunk above the door. Two of the finials are missing. The doors are nice and flat, and the case has the original colour and polish. The movement is original to the case and dial, the dial has the original paint, and the movement is complete and in good working condition. Has an original flat steel rod pendulum with heavy brass bob and brass-cased weights.
