FOUR QUEEN'S ARMCHAIRS, THREE ESTAMPLED I.AVISSE FOR JEAN AVISSE (1723-1796), LOUIS XV AND ONE MODEL, 20th CENTURY in molded and carved beech, decorated with foliage and acanthus leaves. Armrests with cuff, curved legs. (Accidents and restorations) Four armchairs, three armchairs by Jean Avisse, 18th century, and one au modèle, 20th century HEIGHT 93 - WIDTH 65 - DEPTH 65 CM - H. 36,6 - W. 25,6 - D. 25,6 IN. Jean Avisse (1723-1796), received his master's degree in carpentry on November 10, 1745, and established his workshop in 1743 at 124 rue de Cléry. He initially worked on commissions for Parisian merchant-merchants, before devoting himself exclusively to private clients, notably the French aristocracy. During his career, Avisse collaborated with the most renowned sculptors of his time, such as François Baillard, Claude Vinache, Pierre Rousseau and Nicolas Heurtaut, creating richly sculpted seats. His clients included such eminent figures as the Marquise de Chabannes, the Comtesse de Fontenay and the Chevalier de Lamotte. CONDITION REPORT: One broken piece glued back and level of a tenon on the large back.
