Description
CABINET, ANTWERP, 17th CENTURY in blackened wood, rosewood, tortoiseshell, bone, rosewood and walnut veneer; inlaid with a checkerboard pattern of reserve fillets and reserve fillets on the front, in guilloché frames; and a geometric pattern on the sides. It opens with ten drawers, two leaves revealing a theater, a shelf and two secret drawers. It stands on a later-period base in blackened wood and tortoiseshell veneer, decorated with geometric motifs in checkerboard bone fillets. The double-framed guilloche belt features a slightly recessed apron with a spinning top in the center. The turned wood uprights end in rectangular parallelepipeds painted in imitation of tortoiseshell, joined by a spacer belt, ball feet.
