PORTICAL HANGER, SIGNED THONISSEN, IN PARIS, EARLY 19th CENTURY in Griotte red marble and gilt bronze. It features four columns, slightly swollen at the bottom, holding a circular guilloche dial with ring. It is enamelled white with baton hour-markers and Roman numerals for the hours and quarters. Thonissen was a Parisian watchmaker established on rue Mandar between 1806 and 1820, and on rue Comtesse d'Artois from 1830.
