AEROPHILATELIE - PREMIER VOL / PLI ACCIDENTE - February 19, 1929 plane "LE DRAGON D'ANNAM" crewed by COSTES, CODOS and BELLONTE. The plane was to make the fast PARIS-INDOCHINA flight via Tunis, Tripoli, Cairo, Karachi, Allahabad and Hanoi. It took off from Le Bourget at 5.55pm, but engine trouble forced it to land in the outbuildings of the Bondy train station. The aircraft was completely destroyed and the crew wounded. The mail was returned to the sender with the purple stamp described below: - Registered letter from Grenoble (CAD 16/2/1929) with transit via Paris to Hanoi/Tonkin. Special temporary PARIS date stamp "FRANCE - INDOCHINE POSTE AERIENNE 19 Février 1929" + 2 commemorative stamps for this 1st flight: "PAR VOIE AERIENNE de FRANCE en INDO-CHINE" and in purple an accident stamp: "RAID INTERROMPU / PAR ACCIDENT / RETOUR A L'ENVOYEUR". Vignette of the LIGUE AERONAUTIQUE DE FRANCE and very fine postage: 10F Merson n° 207 + 3 stamps in favor of the Caisse d'Amortissement (Semeuses 246/247/250) + 10F Semeuse n° 159 + 15c Semeuse lignée F.M. n° 3.
