[PAPAUTY]. [INNOCENT IV] Papal bull authorizing the Friars Minor of Perugia to sell certain property. Deed in Latin, on parchment, lead seal of Innocent IV suspended on red and yellow silk threads. Italy, Assisi, September 2, 11th year of pontificate [1253]. Dimensions: 605 x 430 mm. Folded charter. A few small holes at folds, one slightly larger hole with small loss of text, otherwise very good overall condition. Innocent IV (Pope 1243-1254) was one of the leading canonists of his time. This bull dates from the very end of his pontificate. In 1253, precisely the year of this bull, Innocent IV consecrated the basilica of St. Francis in Assisi, which had been completely built and was now called "Head and Mother of the Order of Friars Minor".
