Pendule L’Oubli du Temps d’après Claude Galle (1759-1815), début XIXème siècle

in chased, patinated and gilded bronze, the movement set in a terminal against which a vestal crowns and reveals the dial. Decorated with torches, garlands of flowers, torch holders and trophies of arms. Rectangular base in sea-green marble adorned with two female figures holding a banner bearing the words Oubli du temps. Spherical feet adorned with butterfly wings. Rotating-circle movement. H: 47 - W: 33 - D: 15.5 cm Wear, movement modified The model is attributed to Claude Galle and was presented at the 1806 Exposition des Produits de l'Industrie, where it won a bronze medal. A copy is kept at the Musée national du château de Malmaison.
