Cartel d'applique fin XVIIIe siècle
in chased and gilded bronze, decorated with drapery, acanthus leaves, lion's head and leonté, the pilaster-shaped uprights surmounted by ibex heads. It is crowned by an antique-style vase and adorned with a leafy seed at the base. White enameled dial with Arabic and Roman numerals. H: 82 - L: 39 cm Worn, suspension modified, enamel damaged Model by Jean-Charles Delafosse, circa 1770. A preparatory drawing is preserved at Waddesdon Manor.
