In-8 mahogany morocco fully decorated with orientalist gilt plates and frames, smooth spine, gilt head, embroidered silk lining and endpapers, cover preserved (Period binding). Beginning of a split at one spine (3 cm), slight traces of rubbing, very scattered foxing. EDITION ILLUSTRÉE with 54 color COMPOSITIONS, including 12 full-page ones, by Étienne DINET. Limited edition of 400 copies. ONE of 348 numbered on vellum. AUTOGRAPHIC SENTENCE signed by the illustrator and author: "[Exemplaire offert à] Monsieur Lutaud, Gouverneur Général de l'Algérie, avec les hommages les plus respectueux des auteurs / E. Dinet et Sliman Ben Ibrahim [signature in Arabic] / Algiers October 27, 1911". Charles LUTAUD (1855-1911) was governor of Algeria from 1911 to 1918. BEAUTIFUL BINDING decorated in the Orientalist style.

Superb and very luxurious edition of this collection of 3 oriental tales collected by Sliman Ben Ibrahim, translated and illustrated by Étienne DINET (1861-1929). The illustrations include 50 full-page and in-text color compositions, as well as beautiful decorations, framed in black or color around the text or illustrations, or full-page in color and gold. Edition of 300 copies; this is one of 260 on vellum. A very fine copy bound by Saulnier, enriched with the publication prospectus. Spine slightly faded. A former owner has glued two index cards and an article on a flyleaf, which have slightly faded on the false title.

Havana morocco, boards decorated with a rich oriental decoration in blue, red, green and ochre morocco, ribbed spine decorated in the same spirit, interior gilt filleting, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine preserved, bordered slipcase (Blanchetière-Bretault). First edition of this superb work illustrated with 54 paintings by the famous Orientalist painter Étienne DINET (1861-1929), reproduced in color in the text or full-page, and accompanied by a text by his Algerian friend Slimane Ben Brahim Bamer (1871-1953), with whom he forged a strong bond of friendship and traveled the desert as well as the Algerian, Oranese, Tunisian and Egyptian regions. Edition of 400 numbered copies, this being one of 348 on vellum, manufactured by Blanchet et Kléber. SUPERB MOSAIC COVERING OF THE EPOC, MADE BY HENRI BLANCHETIÈRE, son-in-law and successor of J.
