GRAND AND MEDIUM BRONZE MEDALS FROM THE CABINET OF QUEEN CHRISTINE, struck, both by order of the Senate, and by the Roman colonies, and by the Greek cities: engraved as delicately, as exactly after the originals. The Hague, Pierre de Hondt, 1742. In-folio marbled fawn calf, ornate ribbed spine, garnet-red morocco title page, red edges (period binding). Joints largely cracked but seams solid, headpieces missing, leather missing from corners and elbows. ORIGINAL EDITION of the description of Queen Christine of Sweden's famous cabinet of antique medals, text in Latin and French.
