Missing headpieces and lower box, small leather marks on 1st board. ILLUSTRRATED EDITION, a copy of the Regent's edition published in 1718. A FRONTISPICE by A. Coypel engraved by Vidal, a vignette at the head by Scotin, 28 FIGURES (including 13 folding) by Philippe d'Orléans (the Regent) engraved on strong laid paper by Benoit Audran and the famous erotic FIGURE of small feet attributed to Caylus, which although engraved in 1728 was added later to many copies of the original edition. VERY PRETTY EXEMPLAIRE, with a fresh body of work.
