Officer's, ceremonial, combat, infantry broadsword (saber), Land Forces of the French Army, sample (model) 1882. The original name of the weapon is in French; Saber modèle 1882 d'officier d'infanterie. Total length - 995mm. The length of the blade with the handle (without sheath) is 978mm. Blade length without handle – 840mm. The blade width at the heel is 21mm. Sheath length - 851mm. Materials and manufacturing techniques: steel, forging, polishing, wood, hardening, leather, drawing, blackened buffalo horn, wire, nickel silver, stamping. The broadsword blade is steel, straight, forged, hardened, monocotyledonous with a smooth taper at the tip.
