France Naval Officer's Saber 1837
Naval officer's saber. Total length - 90cm. The length of the blade with the handle (without sheath) is 84 cm. Blade length without handle – 70cm. The saber blade is steel, curved, bipartite (one fuller is wide). The heel area is not highlighted. The hilt of the saber consists of a hilt and a guard; its metal parts are made of bronze. The scabbard of the saber is made of all-metal steel, covered with leather with brass inserts. There is a mark HOSTIN written on the blade.
