LE PAYS (René) Zelotyde, histoire galante, à son altesse royale monseigneur le Duc de Savoye, Prince de Piedmont, Roy de Chypre, &c. Cologne: Pierre Michel, 1670. Cologne : Pierre Michel, 1670 - In-12, jansenist red morocco, ribbed spine, interior gilt lace, gilt edges (Masson-Debonnelle). New Elzévirienne edition, reprinting that of 1666, of this little novel written in honor of the Duke of Savoy, first published in 1665. The author, born in Avranches, was René Le Pays (1634-1690), director of the Dauphiné gabelles. A very fine copy bound in jansenist morocco by Masson-Debonnelle for Count Joseph Guilhem de Lagondie (1809-1879). Provenance: Joseph Guilhem de Lagondie, with bookplate (1879, no. 539).
