STRONSKI STANISLAW: (1882-1955) Polish philologist and politician, a member of the Polish government in exile during World War II. T.L.S., Stronski, one page, oblong 8vo, Stratton House, London, 23rd September 1942, to Jacques Metadier, on the printed stationery of the Polish Ministry of Information, in French. Stronski states that he has just received a copy of Solidarity, of which he had ordered four hundred copies for his ministry, and continues to remark ´A cette occasion je suis heureux de vous dire combien je trouve votre initiative utile et heureuse. Elle merite le soutien moral et l´encouragement de tous les Allies. J´espere que vous continuerez de publier votres belle serie, et de ma part je serai toujours heureux de contribuer au resserrement de nos liens´ (Translation: ´I am pleased to take this opportunity to tell you how useful and happy I find your initiative. It deserves the moral support and encouragement of all the Allies. I hope that you will continue to publish your fine series, and for my part I shall always be happy to contribute to the strengthening of our ties´). VG
