PERRIN JEAN BAPTISTE: (1870-1942) French physicist, Nobel Prize winner for Physics, 1926. A.L.S., Jean Perrin, one page, 4to, Paris, 28th July 1922, to Monsieur Cregan (?), on the printed stationery of the Laboratoire de Chimie Physique at the Sorbonne, in French. Perrin writes a letter of introduction, stating ´Je me permets de demander toute votre bienveillance pour que vous fassiez le meilleur accueil possible a Mademoiselle Diane Boes licenciee d´anglais, qui desire un poste dans l´enseignement primaire et qui a de serieuses raisons qu´elle vous expliquera pour destiner un poste a Paris ou aussi pres que possible de Paris´ (Translation: ´I would like to ask you to kindly give the best possible welcome to Miss Diane Boes, who has a degree in English and is looking for a post in primary education. She has serious reasons, which she will explain to you, for wanting a post in Paris or as close to Paris as possible´). VG
