Comprising a Khmer bronze knife with a curved blade, the handle cast as a figure clasping his hands at the chest. The bronze spoon cast with a deity under a naga hood, the bowl flanked by parrots. Provenance: Danish private collection. Condition: The knife in good condition with wear, casting flaws, small nicks, and extensive malachite encrustations. Heavily cast, the seated Luohan nonchalantly reclining, his garments partially open, revealing his chest, a rosary in his left hand, a banana-leaf fan in his right, with a tiger facing him at his feet. Provenance: Dorotheum Vienna, 3 December 2014, lot 31 (sold for EUR 1,595 or approx. EUR 2,200 adjusted for inflation at the time of writing). From the collection of an artist and university professor in Vienna. Condition: Very good condition with surface wear and casting irregularities.
