Cloth binding with black title on spine gusset. Nice pocket publication by Pickering issued in the "Diamond Classics Series" collan. Also in the lot is De l'esprit des loix de Montesquieu in the Amsterdam edition of 1788, Dicours sur l'origine & les fondements de l'inégalité parmi les hommes of 1755, Yorick's Sentimental Journey along France and Italy of 1818, a copy with barbs of Yorick's Letters to Elisa and Elisa's Letters to Yorick of 1815, Maupertuis's Essai de philosophie morale of 1751, Tasso's Aminta in Dulau's London edition of 1800 in coeval morocco binding, and Carlo Botta's 1819 History of the War of the Indepedence of the United States of America, unfortunately missing volumes 3 and 4, but with 2 large engraved and repeatedly folded maps depicting America in the first volume.
