Lot of two incomplete copies of Petrarch's work. 4to, (213 x150mm). Text with marginal commentary (missing f. a2 with privilege, title-page with reintegrated loss to upper corner, quire B bound after C, a few sporadic marginal stains and tears). Contemporary binding with botanical medallion in the center with the title of the work to upper board and a cupid to lower board, boards within geometric border, darkened edges (restored with marginal reparations, spine completely rebuilt, modern endpapers) [IN LOT WITH:] Petrarch with the expositione of m. Alessandro Velutello. Venice, Bertano, 1573. 4to (200 x 145) Title page within engraved border, engraved headpieces and initials (quire O missing, some minor restoration and integrations, upper corners slightly rounded). Text in French and Latin enhanced by red and blue lettering (restorations, small tears and a few stains). - HORAE]: In-8° leaf of a printed book of Hours, Grandes Heures de Simon Vostre. Circa 1498, Paris. The scene depicts the Virgin Mary in majesty. Verso, text in French and Latin, ruled in red and enhanced with gilded lettering on red and blue backgrounds. Framed with biblical scenes, floral motifs and fantastical animals. (Restoration in the margin and small tear).
