Pair of Elizabethan mirrors; c. 1880. Stuccoed and gilded wood. Presents faults and restorations. Measurements: 58 x 36 x 4 cm. Set of two Elizabethan oval mirrors with wooden structure covered with gilded stucco, decorated with bouquets of flowers between moldings and strings of ovals. This type of pieces were highly valued during the period as the taste for decorative arts increased in the European courts in the late eighteenth century, and throughout the nineteenth century in which superfluous luxury and the desire to own small and exquisite things spread among the nobility and the gentry.
