JOAN GARDY ARTIGAS (Boulogne, Paris, 1938). "Vase". Ceramic. Signed and located. Measurements: 19 x 17 cm. Painter and sculptor, Joan Gardy Artigas, pseudonym of Joan Llorens Gardy, worked as an assistant to Joan Miró during his adolescence, after which he went to Paris to study at the School of Fine Arts. In the sixties he began to work with Miró, a collaboration that would last twenty years. Alone, Gardy Artigas produced monumental sculptures in France, Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan, as well as small-format pieces, lithographs and engravings. He is represented at the Fundación Artigas in Barcelona and, since the 1960s, in the most important galleries in Spain, France, Germany, Japan and Switzerland.
