Armchair. England, regency style, first third of the nineteenth century. Mahogany wood. Upholstered in green. Measurements: 88 x 59 x 57 cm. Armchair in mahogany wood, with fluted and stippled front legs, while the back legs are sabre-like. The wood of the armrest is arched in a graceful design and the backrest has a cross fretwork inserted in a rectangular stretcher frame. The top of the backrest is slightly cambered to harmonize with the sabre profile of the legs. The set has a historicist design, combining elements of various British eighteenth-century and French nineteenth-century styles. It features marquetry work with vegetal scallops at the waist and back.
