Description

Desk clock; France, restoration period, c. 1820. Mercury gilt bronze with porcelain enamel dial. It has no key, no pendulum and is missing. Measurements: 45 x 19,5 x 10,5 cm. Table clock made of gilded bronze. The piece sits on four legs of chamfered ball that gives way to a prismatic base of polished sides. On it emerges a pedestal on whose front can be seen a relief with the representation of Cupid and Psyche. This relief follows the models of the work painted in 1798 by François Gérard known as "Psyche receiving the first kiss of Cupid". This painting belongs to the collection of the Louvre Museum in Paris. The upper area houses the watch case adorned with two large acanthus leaves that run around the perimeter. The dial has bruguet type hands with Roman numerals in black. It has no key, no pendulum and has no faults. In the description of the watches when it is marked "in working order" it means that the watch is in working order. Since collector's watches often have delicate and complex mechanisms, the buyer is responsible for any general service, overhaul, battery change, adjustment or repair that may be necessary. We do not guarantee the perfect functioning of any watch. All the photographs of our watches are original and have been taken by our photographers, that is to say, we do not work with stock photography and that is why the photographs are considered part of the cataloging.
