Large Neolithic amulet in the shape of a bird. Hongshan culture, ca. 4700 - 2900 B.C. L 9 cm, W 7 cm. Light green jade, partially calcified. Stylized bird with outstretched wings. The front convex, flat base with two funnel-shaped holes on the head as a device for a carrier material. Pronounced head and tail tip, wings decorated with parallel cuts. Intact. Good condition with age-related patina. Provenance: Ex collection R.K., North Rhine-Westphalia, before 1980.
