Set of ancient Babylonian hematite weights. ca. 2000 - 1600 B.C. L 1.4cm - 7.7cm. Weights of 10 shiqlu (84.51g), 5 shiqlu (43.21g), 3 shiqlu (25.60g, 25.43g, 25.06g and 24.61g), 2 shiqlu (18.91g and 18.48g), 1.5 rebuti (10,13g), 1 Shiqlu (8.48g and 8.94g), 1/2 Shiqli (4.72g), 1.5 Shalashu (3.54g and 3.53g), Shalashu 2.74g and 2.32g) and Shuddu (1.33g). Shapes mostly convex-rhomboid, biconical and cylindrical with concave ends, once pear-shaped and once tubular and once flat plano-convex. Most with flattened bases, three small pieces with a transverse hole. One piece with four antique notches, another with bronze remnants. 17 pieces! Cf. F.
