Amphoriskos in sand core technique. Eastern Mediterranean, 5th century BC. H 9.1cm. Dark blue glass. Ovoid body with narrow neck, flaring plate rim and small button foot, as well as two neck-shoulder handles. Body decorated with a fine yellow and light blue feather pattern, framed by yellow threads. Reassembled from several fragments and retouched, magnificent mother-of-pearl iridescence. Provenance: ex Gorny & Mosch 300, 2023, lot 248; ex collection Dr. Wiegand, Bavaria, collection period 1960s to 2005.
