Description

Alabastron in sand core technique. Eastern Mediterranean, 2nd - 1st century BC. H 13cm. Dark blue glass. Biconical vessel with flaring rim and small handles. Body decorated with an elongated feather pattern in white. The base reattached from two fragments, some small chips and a small fragment of the rim restored. Provenance: ex Gorny & Mosch 300, 2023, lot 244; ex collection Dr. Wiegand, Bavaria, collection period 1960s to 2005.
