Description
Alabastron in sand core technique. Eastern Mediterranean, 4th - 3rd century BC. H 12cm. Dark blue glass. Cylindrical vessel with protruding rim and small knobbed handles. Body decorated with feather pattern in yellow and white. Small antique chip and cracks, but intact, slight sintering and partial mother-of-pearl iridescence. Provenance: ex Gorny & Mosch 300, 2023, lot 240; ex collection Dr. Wiegand, Bavaria, collection period 1960s to 2005.
