Agate stamp seal. Sasanian, 5th - 6th century AD H 2.3 cm, W 2.8 cm. Conoid with cross hole. The high oval seal face depicts a man in a tunic piercing an erect lion with his spear. Cf. Hennig, Classical Gems. Ancient and Modern Intaglios and Cameos in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge (1994) p. 189, no. 415. intact.
