Carnelian ball seal. Sasanian, 4th - 5th century AD ø 1.4cm. Hemispherical with horizontal hole. On the seal surface a reclining gopatsah, above inscription in Pahlavi and crescent moon. The gopatsah consists of a bovine body with a bearded human head and is winged. With impression! Intact. Provenance: Ex collection Dr. Klaus Marquardt, North Rhine-Westphalia, 1980s to 2009.
