Amygdaloides jasper crucible. Middle Minoan - Late Minoan, ca. 1900 - 1450 B.C. L 1.7cm, W max. 1.3cm. Made of red carnelian. Amygdaloid with vertical hole. Octopus in "talismanic" style, vegetal tendril on the side. Tiny missing fragments at the drilled holes, surface somewhat chipped. Provenance: Ex collection J.K.-E., Hesse, acquired 1986 from Thomas Heneage & Co., London.
