Pair of gold earrings with rosette pendant. Early Byzantine, 5th - 7th century AD. 10.02g, ø 2.9cm. Hoop earrings with a rigid pendant in the shape of a rosette with four pelta-like elements of flat beaten gold wire and granulated decoration. Gold! Brackets somewhat bent, intact. Provenance: Acquired in 1981 from the A.C. Collection, England. Previously English art trade of the late 1970s. In Germany since 2019, at Gorny & Mosch auction 268, 2019, lot 231.
