Late antique clay lamp with Christogram. North Africa, 4th - 5th century A.D. Type Hayes II. L 11.5cm, H 4.5cm. Made of light red clay with light red coating. Cone-shaped handle, ovoid body, rounded snout with firing hole, two filling holes in the mirror. A Christogram with a rho loop to the left on the mirror. Alternating filled circles, diamonds and floral elements on the shoulder. Traces of sinter, intact. Provenance: Ex private collection H.L., Rhineland, since before 2000.
