Late antique clay lamp with horse. North Africa, 4th - 5th century A.D. Type Hayes II. L 14cm, H 5cm. Made of light red clay with light red coating. Cone-shaped handle, ovoid body, rounded snout with firing hole, two filling holes in the mirror. A horse on the mirror. Alternating filled circles and volute ornaments on the shoulder. With certificate of authenticity from Galerie Günter Puhze, 2009! Remains of sinter, intact. Provenance: From the R. L. Collection, Lower Saxony, acquired in 2009 from Galerie Günter Puhze, Freiburg; ex collection K. Trier.
