Late antique clay lamp with dromedary. North Africa, 4th - 5th century A.D. Type Hayes II. L 13.5cm, H 5cm. Made of light red clay with light red coating. Cone-shaped handle, ovoid body, rounded snout with firing hole, two filling holes in the mirror. On the mirror a dromedary with a palanquin on its back. Alternating arches, squares and triangles on the shoulder. With certificate of authenticity from Galerie Günter Puhze, 2009! Filling hole broken out. Provenance: From the R. L. Collection, Lower Saxony, acquired in 2008 from Galerie Günter Puhze, Freiburg; ex collection K., Trier.
