Early Byzantine bronze lamp and candelabra. Eastern Mediterranean area, 5th - 7th century AD. a) Oil lamp with standing ring, elongated snout and ring eye handle with cross attachment. The upper side of the lamp body and the cross with punched circle dots. L 19.5 cm. The hinged lid and one arm of the cross missing, remains of sinter. b) The unassociated bronze candelabra with profiled shaft, three "paw feet" and leaf apron. H 28.5 cm. Green patina, remains of sinter, somewhat bent. 2 pieces! Provenance: From the West German private collection H. H., before 2010; ex Gorny & Mosch, auction 300, 12.12.2023, lot 137.
